The glass bottle comes with a plastic stopper to prevent it from leaking during transport, this plug is removed, wood cap applied, tightened (not too tight as it may crack!), then shaken to activate the oils to penetrate the wood.

Since oil can discolor surfaces we highly recommend the attached cord be tied and the bottle hung in a place that keeps the oil soaked cap from touching other surfaces. Recharge the cap by shaking the bottle several times, making sure to check cap that it is secure.
